We were chatting with herbalist 7Song the other day about his upcoming class for Plants for the People. The conversation turned to the “perks” that teachers and sponsors are offering summit attendees.

With his trademark playfulness, 7Song asked, “Are there any plants that you’d call…perky?”

Immediately, Calendula came to mind—our chosen summit plant ambassador.

Calendula, with her bright golden blooms that follow the sun across the sky, is a plant of resilience and cheer. She tends to the skin with gentle healing, eases inflammation, and brings light to weary spirits. A flower of warmth and endurance, Calendula feels like a living embodiment of “perkiness”—always lifting, always shining, always reminding us that healing can also be joyful.

🌼 Just as Calendula offers her gifts, every summit registrant will receive exclusive “perks”—special offerings from our presenters and sponsors designed to extend the teachings and give back to the community. Think discounts, downloads, and treasures that continue the circle of care long after the summit ends. We’ll be adding more in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back often and see what new surprises await.

Check out the summit perks (and while you’re there, be sure to register).

We are living in times when the cracks in our healthcare systems are plain to see—long waits, high costs, uncertainty about even the basics.

These struggles touch our families, our neighbors, our communities.

🌿 Yet alongside this strain, another truth shines through…
The plants are still with us.
They grow wild in the meadows and gardens, offering their quiet, steadfast medicine.

And we—ordinary people with extraordinary hearts—are remembering what it means to care for one another.

✨ From this place of urgency and hope, we invite you to join us for:
Plants for the People: Herbal Care for a Changing World

📅 October 7–9, 2025 • Free Online Gathering

Over three days, we’ll learn from herbalists, healers, and community organizers tending the roots of resilience.

Together, we’ll explore practical ways to bring herbal care into our homes,
our neighborhoods, and the larger movements of collective care.

💚 This is a call to gather. A call to weave ourselves back into the living fabric of community and plant wisdom.
